Battersea Communal Wi-Fi Completion

As-built wireless design, installation and optimisation for the shared spaces of a completed luxury residential building.

The Challenge

The need for communal Wi-Fi was identified after the building and interior finishes were already complete. The solution therefore had to be designed around the real as-built environment, protected finishes and viable cable routes. Earlier decoration works had also left missing or damaged access-point and cable elements that needed to be reconciled before the system could be accepted.

How We Delivered

Survey the building as it exists

The team re-surveyed the completed spaces, modelled coverage against the as-built layout and used heat-map evidence to place access points and define practical routes through finished areas.

Install, repair and reconcile

Six new access points were installed, two cable links were repaired and a new switch was added in an agreed garage changing-room cabinet to support the extended coverage scope.

Tune for real shared spaces

Channel planning and service checks were completed across representative high-use and remote areas, including the cinema and sauna, so acceptance was based on the lived environment rather than a desk design alone.

Hand over a supportable system

The client received the updated logical topology, floor-by-floor physical layouts, installation status and test evidence needed for future fault finding, change and warranty support.

Outcomes

  • Six new access points installed and all six online in the management portal
  • Garage coverage added and post-decoration cable issues rectified
  • Key and remote communal areas included in service validation
  • Topology, physical layouts and completion records issued at handover

Client Outcome

The property team received an accepted completion set rather than an undocumented retrofit. Gadgets Lab remains the warranty support point, giving the client continuity between the people who designed and installed the solution and those responsible for keeping it stable.
